Cleaning your bathroom creates a safe and sanitized environment. Even if we do it daily, limescale inevitably builds up on faucets and tiles over time.

Limescale removers are effective, but at the same time they are polluting the environment and could be harmful to us. To eliminate limescale the alternative is to use natural products. These, in addition to returning a clean and shiny bathroom are safe for the environment. Here are all the tips to eliminate limescale in a green way.

Clean the shower stall and curtain

The shower is the area of the bathroom where limescale deposits the most. Plastic or glass in the long run the walls become dull. To eliminate limescale you can create a mixture of 1 part water and 2 parts white vinegar. To make the environment fragrant, you can add oil essence to the mixture, choosing the scent you like best.

After each shower, spray the preparation on the tiles and walls of the box, leave to act for a few minutes and rinse. To remove excess water, use a window cleaner and dry with a Vesuvio microfiber cloth.

If there are areas where limescale is resistant you can use pure hot vinegar directly on the affected area, let it act for 10 minutes. Then wipe with a sponge and rinse with warm water and dry the area.

If you have a curtain instead of a shower stall, you will have noticed that it is also subject to the formation of limescale and mold. So it is better to wash it periodically in the washing machine at 30° adding two tablespoons of baking soda and white vinegar. If there are mold stains, it is better to rub the affected part with baking soda.

Remove limescale from bathroom fittings and faucets

Removing limescale from bathroom fixtures if done periodically is quick and easy. For a shiny result, prepare a cream with 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate, a few drops of water and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Clean the surface with a Vesuvio anti-scratch sponge soaked in the product, rinse well and dry.

When it comes to faucets and shower heads, it can happen that limescale clogs the holes and restricts the passage of water. In this case, disassemble the diffuser and immerse it in a mixture of 250 ml of boiling water and 150 ml of vinegar. Let the faucet soak for about 4 hours.

On the other hand, if you want to remove limescale from the rest of the faucet, do a pretreatment with lemon. Let it act for at least 10 minutes then clean the part with a sponge soaked in baking soda and vinegar, rinse with warm water and dry.

Remove limescale from the toilet

To clean the toilet put baking soda on the inside walls and leave it overnight. The next morning scrub well with the broom, flush and it will come back clean.
